Exam Information 2025/26
During 2025-2026 these are scheduled as follows:-
Pre-public Examinations (Mocks)
Year 11
Monday 13th October – Thursday 23rd October
Monday 2nd February – Friday 13th February
Year 10
Monday 15th June – Friday 26th June 2026
External exams
External exams will take place from 29th April to 17th June 2026.
Contingency Day 2026
The exam contingency day for the Summer 2026 series is Wednesday 24th June 2026. This day is reserved in case of national or significant local disruption to the examinations, meaning students must remain available until this date regardless of their individual timetables. Please be mindful of this date when planning holidays.
All exam boards have now issued their summer 2026 timetables on the public websites.
Exam timetables
Individual exam timetables will be given to candidates in late February. It is the responsibility of the student to let the Exams Officer know of any errors or omissions on their timetable.
Results
Candidates will receive individual results slips on results days, either
- in person at the centre or
- given to another person provided written permission has been provided by the candidate to release the results and the named person brings in photographic evidence of their ID, or
- by post to their home address where candidates have requested this (envelopes are only posted on results day, so will not be received until the day after.
The results slip will be in the form of a centre produced document. Candidates will also receive information regarding the Enquiries about results services (EARs) offered by the exam boards.
Uncollected results slips will then be available for collection from the reception.
Results Days
The dates for Results Days in Summer 2026 is:
GCSE – Thursday 20th August 2026
Results will be available for collection by Year 11 students from 9.00am
At the event, a member of staff will be on hand to support you with any questions you may have with regards to the next stage of your education.
If on the day you have any queries or concerns with the grades that you receive, please either speak with your teacher or email the exams officer: exams@cottinghamhigh.net and we will be able to give you advice and guidance.
Please can you ensure that any textbooks and/or equipment that belongs to the school is returned on this day.
