Emergency Welfare Assistance – Food and household items

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, central government have provided funding to the council to allow ERYC to offer financial support to help households in the East Riding. Eligible applicants will have experienced a reduction in their income of at least 20% which is the result of COVID-19 and do not have savings available to afford essential items.

East Riding residents may request assistance with food and toiletries, gas and electric bills, nappies for children aged three and under, and travel costs to work or pre-booked hospital appointments.

Applications for the Emergency Assistance Grant scheme can be made by visiting www.eastriding.gov.uk/living/emergency-assistance or by calling the Benefits contact centre on 01482 394799. Full details of the scheme are available on the council’s website.
