At Cottingham, our dedicated pastoral team work with students to help them address any barriers to learning. Our Pastoral Managers bridge the academic and pastoral domains so that all students have the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
The pastoral team supports the students in various ways. It is not uncommon for issues to present themselves in the form of low self-esteem, lack of confidence, peer pressure, bullying, mental health issues, relationship and family matters, drug and alcohol use or other worrying aspects of growing up.
The team are well-equipped to deal with issues that are presented. They offer coping strategies, raising aspirations, enhance motivation and encouragement for a re-introduction to learning. A multi disciplinary approach with external agencies helps to provide a solid network to bring the best outcomes for all children that require further support.
