"Studying religion helps children to understand both themselves and the world around them, it moves us past tolerance and into acceptance."
During the study of RE, Philosophy and Ethics at Cottingham High School, students will learn to demonstrate what it means to show commitment to a belief, both religious and non-religious. Students will be able to communicate their ideas, beliefs and opinions confidently and coherently. Students will also be encouraged to develop personal responses to and reflect upon life’s big questions. In addition, they will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of tolerance and apply this to real-world examples. Students will have the opportunity to reflect upon their own morality as well as that of others in society.
