Dear Parent
I have great pleasure in inviting you to our Year 9 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 3rd March 2010. The evening has been deliberately scheduled to follow the Year 9 Curriculum Evening, the aim being to ensure you are well informed about the process of choosing GCSE subjects, and therefore better able to assist your son/daughter as they go about making their option choices.
To this end, we hope you will encourage your son/daughter to attend with you on the evening so they can be involved in the consultations with staff. You will also be pleased to know that all Year 9 are currently reviewing their progress and setting personal targets in discussions with their Form Tutors as another element of our effort to make sure they are well prepared to make good option choices. Making choices and GCSE options is also the focus of our current Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education work in Year 9.
To assist us with our arrangements for the Parents’ Evening on 3rd March we request that all parents and students sign in on arrival and sign out on departure. Teachers will be making appointments from 6.00 up until 8.30 pm.
