The Rivals by Richard Brinsley Sheridan. May 21st – 23rd 2010

A lively cast of students from Years 7 to 13 played Sheridan’s comic characters, including the wonderful Mrs Malaprop and her misuse of the English language!

Centering on romantic secrets, lies and mistaken identities, the plot gave the cast every opportunity to create humour, both visual and verbal. Colourful period costumes and set provided an evocative atmosphere of Jane Austen and the Regency period.

Director Mrs Kate Miller praised the cast’s energy and stamina throughout the production and in particular, their ability to deliver the language of Sheridan in a clear and meaningful manner, 235 years after it was written.
