On Tuesday 28 November the RAF Education Roadshow inspired Year 7 pupils with their “Fun with Flight” presentation.
Pupils discovered how the science they study in school is an integral part of the work that engineers undertake in the RAF. The presentation talked about the ‘microlight world altitude’ record and the physics behind how the RAF achieved this. The show actively promotes women in engineering and highlighted brilliantly the exciting careers available in STEM.
We even experienced the full force of a jet engine to end the show!
We were lucky to have a serving member of the RAF come along to talk to us about his role in weapons and engineering. The students asked him lots of interesting questions and gained a real insight in to his world.
