This course is suitable for students who gain D and E grades at GCSE. It is designed for those studying in preparation for employment in the business sector particularly in job roles where they will be expected to use communication and ICT skills, liaise with customers and carry out customer service roles.

The qualification is equivalent to 4 GCSE’s grade A-C. The units and the full award are graded as Pass, Merit and Distinction.

The course has six units. These are: Investigating business, Enterprise and operations, Finance in business, Communication in business, Promotion in Business and Keeping customers happy. All units are assessed by coursework which will be completed throughout the year.

Students who have successfully completed this course in the past have gone onto GCE Applied A Levels, Full time employment, NVQ level 3 courses and college.
