AS Biology is spilt into 3 main topics: Biology and disease and The variety of living organisms, which are both assessed by a written examination and Investigative skills that is assessed by an internal assignment.

At A2 Biology you will learn about genetics, photosynthesis and respiration, human life cycles, energy in plants and animals, muscle structure and function, the nervous system, ecosystems, succession, environmental impact. Investigative skills such as data collection and analysis and evaluating data are also developed.

Biology attracts students from a wide range of other subjects. Many continue into biology related degree courses or medical, sports, psychology, environmental courses. Others go into unrelated fields such as law, computing or accounting.
